I bought this set of reusable microwave vegetable steamers a couple of weeks ago on a whim—I was mostly looking for a cleaner, quicker way to steam veggies without dirtying another pot. I have to say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised!

First off, the quality is decent. The plastic feels lightweight but not flimsy, and it’s completely transparent, which I like because I can see how the food is doing inside the microwave without opening it every few minutes. The fact that they’re reusable and washable is a big win in my book—I’ve already used them about 10 times, and they’re holding up just fine. I usually just give them a quick rinse or pop them into the dishwasher (top rack) and they come out clean.
Why I Choose This Microwave Vegetable Steamer
What I like: ✅ Super easy to use—just toss in chopped veggies, sprinkle some water, and microwave. Done in a few minutes.
✅ Saves time and dishes—I’m not dirtying a steamer pot every time I want broccoli.
✅ The steam circulates well; veggies come out tender but not soggy.
✅ Great for portion control—I use them for meal prep.
Things that could be better: 🔸 They don’t come with a lid, so I use a microwave-safe plate on top. It works, but a snap-on lid would’ve been more convenient.
🔸 The size is okay for 1–2 servings, but if you’re cooking for more people, you’ll need to do multiple rounds.
🔸 They can get hot—definitely use oven mitts or a cloth when taking them out.
Bonus use I didn’t expect: I also tried using one to reheat rice and it actually worked better than my usual bowl—it didn’t dry out or get rubbery. It’s become part of my regular kitchen rotation now.
Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a simple, eco-friendly solution for quick veggie steaming (or rice, or reheating leftovers). Not perfect, but definitely worth the price for the convenience!
Would I buy it again? Probably yes, especially if they offer a version with lids!
Hope that helps someone make a decision. 😊
